I was born in northern China. When I was 10 years old I came to the United States, where I received an excellent education thanks to the wonderful teachers and professors I had in high school and college.

I keep up on the latest news at Reddit and The New York Times. I also like to read about life and science, power dynamics and politics, love and death, and the universe in general. Writings on subject matters such as biology, sociology, psychology and anthropology endlessly fascinate me.

Among my favorite authors are Frank Herbert, Robert Heinlein, J.R.R. Tolkien, Jean-Jacques Rousseau, William Shakespeare, George Orwell and Friedrich Nietzsche. I am also a fan of Japanese manga and anime, and I take interest in eastern as well as western cultures.

My love of fantasy lore and D&D takes me to the world of gaming. I have played numerous MMORPGs, including Dark Age of Camelot, Lineage II, City of Heroes, Guild Wars, Rising Force Online, Rappelz, Lord of the Rings Online and World of Warcraft. I tend to play healers and support roles, as I like to help and strengthen others.

The Internet was my first passion. I am a product of the 21st century digital age, growing up with the personal computer, chatting online and learning new technologies. As with many others in this field, many of my web skills are self-taught.

This website was hand-coded in Notepad++, with valid XHTML and CSS, and a simple PHP backend. I use the jQuery JavaScript library, with several plug-ins for different effects.
